A local business, built around one thing

Papatoetoe Heat Pumps is a locally-based installation and servicing business focused on one thing: getting South Auckland homes properly heated. We launched in 2025 with accreditations from the three leading manufacturers and approval from EECA to process Warmer Kiwi Homes subsidy applications.

We work primarily with homeowners — families upgrading from old electric heaters, people making their first heat pump installation, and households eligible for the government subsidy who want a straightforward process from start to finish.

We don't offer same-day emergency everything or claim to be the biggest operation in Auckland. What we offer is qualified installation, honest sizing advice, proper commissioning, and a business that will still be answering the phone when you need your annual service.

Government-authorised to process subsidy applications on your behalf. We submit the paperwork and deduct the subsidy from your invoice directly — you don't deal with EECA at all.

Manufacturer-approved training and authorisation for all three leading brands. Accreditation means installations are carried out to manufacturer standards and full manufacturer warranties apply.

NZQA mechanical engineering qualifications

All technicians hold New Zealand Qualifications Authority-recognised mechanical engineering qualifications. The technical foundation for correct sizing, installation, and commissioning.

Licensed refrigerant handling

Refrigerant handling is a licensed activity in New Zealand. All our technicians hold the required certification — a legal requirement for heat pump installation that not all operators comply with.

IQP-registered technicians

Independently Qualified Person registration for Building Warrant of Fitness compliance. Required for commercial heat pump installations and servicing of commercial premises.

Fully insured

Full public liability and professional indemnity insurance for residential and commercial work. All installations comply with NZS 4243, AS/NZS 3000:2007 electrical standards, and New Zealand Building Code requirements.

Written quote — itemised and clear

Written quote covering equipment, installation, electrical work, and any subsidy deduction. No hidden costs. No work starts without your approval.

Subsidy application — we handle it

If you're eligible for Warmer Kiwi Homes funding, we complete and submit the application on your behalf. The subsidy is deducted from your invoice — you don't deal with any paperwork.

Professional installation — to manufacturer standards

Qualified technicians complete the installation to manufacturer and Building Code standards. We confirm timing in advance and complete the job in one visit for standard installations.

Handover and ongoing support

We walk you through the controls, show you how to clean the filters, and register the manufacturer warranty. We're available for annual servicing and repairs — the same number, the same team.
